# Projects

Creating and managing projects in the web app.

Projects are the top-level container for your secrets. Each project typically represents one application or service.

## Creating a Project

1. Click the project dropdown in the header
2. Click **New Project**
3. Enter a project name (e.g., "my-api", "frontend")
4. Optionally add a description
5. Click **Create**

Your project is created with a default `development` environment.

## Project Settings

Access project settings by clicking the gear icon next to the project name.

### General Settings

- **Name**: The display name of your project
- **Description**: Optional description for documentation
- **Project ID**: Unique identifier used by the CLI

### Danger Zone

- **Delete Project**: Permanently removes the project and all secrets

> **Warning**
>
> Deleting a project cannot be undone. Make sure to export your secrets first if needed.

## Switching Projects

Use the project dropdown in the header to switch between projects. The currently selected project is displayed in the dropdown button.

## Project List

The project dropdown shows all projects you have access to:

- Projects you created
- Projects shared with you by team members
